The Prince of Wales plans to participate in the COP30 climate summit in South America during November, as announced by royal officials.

Prince William and King Charles appeared together on Thursday night at a reception preceding the climate summit, which is scheduled to take place in the northern Brazilian city of Belem.

The King and Prince were participating in the Natural History Museum reception, marking an rare public appearance together at a pre-COP30 gathering arranged together with the UK government.

Climate Leadership Commitment

The King has been a long-time champion of biodiversity preservation - and the Prince of Wales has assumed the responsibility, with his own environmental prize initiative, which will be hosted in Rio preceding the climate conference.

Royal sources have portrayed the Prince's participation at the upcoming climate summit as taking on an crucial position in "global climate discussions".

Recent Engagements

The monarch and his heir, making a joint entrance in the royal vehicle, were greeted guests including environmentalists, researchers, climate change campaigners, foreign representatives and politicians.

This engagement featured addresses alongside President Emmanuel Macron of France and other global statesmen at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in Monaco during the current year.

The COP30 summit will coincide with the William's personal sustainability recognition program, which will conclude in Rio de Janeiro the previous day he participates in the COP summit on November 6th.

The monarch has been a prominent presence at past COP meetings, giving the opening address in Dubai for COP28, including the reminder: "We are custodians of the planet, not its owners".

"Throughout my life I've dedicated a large proportion of my life trying to warn of the existential threats facing us over planetary heating, climate change and ecological decline," the sovereign addressed delegates.
