Helicopter Spirals Wildly into Palm Fronds at Well-Known Southern California Beach
An aircraft flying near a well-attended southern California shoreline unexpectedly commenced twirling uncontrollably, finally descending rapidly and crashing into a line of palm groves as beachgoers observed.
Videos posted on the internet capture the chopper beginning to twirl over Huntington Beach then plunging in the direction of the perimeter of the beach, where it gets stuck among palms and a staircase near the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Update
Local firefighters stated five individuals were rushed to the hospital comprising two individuals who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the incident on the weekend.
Three people on the pavement were hurt. Specifics on their condition were not yet released.
What led to the incident was still under investigation.

Officials indicated the aircraft was associated with an annual “Cars with Copters” benefit occasion planned for the following day.
