Explore Twenty-Nine Latest Cards from Magic's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion (Featuring a Commander Deck!)

Everyone's beloved pizza-eating superheroes are making their way to the popular trading card game. The well-known TCG's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, unveiled a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a special event hosted at NYCC. Is this a radical addition or simply another Universes Beyond marketing move? We'll let you decide.

Take a look below at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with key context. Everything listed below launches on March 6th, 2026, with one exception — the Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27th.

Magic x TMNT: Core Set Cards

Before we get into the many special decks and collections available, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by the developers. Play boosters for the set are priced at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a few surprising details. To begin, there's a new mechanic named Sneak, inspired by the already established Ninjutsu ability, where gamers can cheat big creatures onto the battlefield whenever an attacker goes unblocked. The big difference in this case is that this new ability can affect spells that aren’t creatures too. The designers also used this chance to clean up the ability a little (Sneak counts as casting, as opposed to Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but chances are players will encounter the new mechanic in future sets from now on.

Should we go back to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use the original ability because that plane is it was developed and it’s a hallmark to that,” an experienced game designer explained. “But in other settings, since the rules are cleaner and Sneak is what's going to be Standard-legal, it’s probable we’ll use Sneak.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is one of four cards with special art designed specifically for the expansion by TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman.

Oh, and, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing cards outside of your deck, so was I. But according to the developers, that's now a official card in all formats of Magic.

In any case, below are the highly unusual land cards with full art from the TMNT set:

Following Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers say they were careful to ensure the cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the development for 15 months and we knew it would be in standard and which sets would be near it in standard,” the designer commented. “We designed to ensure that there's synergy with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet strategy focused on artifact cards.

“They mesh together to offer the pieces for a enjoyable Standard deck,” he added.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!

Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only a single precon, but it includes six different legendary cards that can serve as your commander based on how you combine them (five cards include a unique partner ability named “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command zone instead of only one). Take a look below:

The Turtle Power precon is priced at $69.99, though the price may rise based on popularity. Sources told that it contains 43 brand-new cards in total, which means an extra 37 Turtle-themed cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured above. (Doing some rough math, this suggests approximately 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the precon includes 37 land cards.)

What will the Turtles version of the iconic Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and find out.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

Typically, the company is offering a collection. This one costs $69.99 and includes the listed items:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • Fifteen Traditional foil land cards
  • Fifteen Regular land cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • One Foil promotional card
  • 1 Oversized spindown life counter
  • One Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it is packaged in a box resembling a pizza box. Every pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the following:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • 1 Collector Booster
  • Twenty-five Non-foil pizza lands
  • Five Foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Traditional foil pizza bundle promo cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Oversized spindown life counter
  • 1 Card-storage box

For those curious what a “Pizza Bundle promo card” means, it’s basically a reprint of an older card featuring brand-new TMNT artwork. Wizards showed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter adding toppings on a pizza slice. In total, there are six different pizza promos available.

This special bundle launches a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This unique product is designed for a four-player draft and costs $119.99. It includes:

  • 12 Play Boosters (the perfect amount four people to draft)
  • One Collector Booster (aka, the prize for winning)
  • 90 Regular basic lands (to build your deck)
  • 10 Non-foil double-sided tokens
  • One drafting guide (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting the set)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its ongoing effort to create Magic products aimed at new players. Here, the cooperative set is a special set of prebuilt decks that allow two players team up to face a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The general idea is that each Boss card gives special abilities to the creatures contained in the Boss deck. Each Boss automatically casts an additional card per turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
